Fire Permit Application

Please complete this application if you'd like to undertake open-air burning that is 61 cm x 61 cm (24” x 24”) or less. The approved burn permit will be valid until December 31 of the year the permit is issued. The fee for the burn permit is $25 which can be paid online using Mastercard, Visa, or Visa debit.

A two percent (0.50 cent) processing fee will be apllied to your purchase to cover the cost of processing your credit card transaction. As the Township is charged by our provider to offer this service, this fee is applied as a cost-recovery measure to only those transactions that are paid by credit card, and not to other forms of payment.

Before you make a payment, please make sure that your property is located in the Township of Severn. You can double-check by entering your address into our Interactive Zoning Map.

Please ensure that all information entered is correct and accurate (i.e., spelling of your address and e-mail address, etc.). Any errors may result in your permit application being rejected. 

You must follow all of the requirements outlined in the Open-Air Burning By-law. These requirements are detailed on your Fire Permit that will be sent to you by email after you complete your online payment. 

The permit must be displayed when burning and should be available upon request from members of Severn Fire and Emergency Services or Township staff.
